Complementary therapies
What we do
The Abington Clinic offers a comprehensive range of complementary therapies which either support our physical therapies or can be used as an alternative to medical or physical therapy. At our specialist complementary therapies clinic we provide a holistic approach and seek to treat you as a whole looking at all aspects of your life, lifestyle, diet, occupation and emotions, rather than just looking at and treating the symptoms of your current illness or ailment.
At The Abington Clinic, we believe that a great number of today’s illnesses are caused by stress and tension in our lives. Following illness, injury or disease, the body can often be in a state of imbalance. Through complementary therapies we believe that we can unblock your pathways, release energy and help your body and its individual systems to function more effectively.
The complementary therapies which we offer include:
- Acupuncture
- Reflexology
- Hypnotherapy
- Trichology
- Vega testing
- Craniosacral Therapy
- Thermo- Auricular Therapy
What we treat
As professional complementary therapists, we believe our therapies can help to restore the body’s natural equilibrium and balance because when the body is relaxed and in balance it can cope with the everyday stresses and strains of life much more effectively.
Our complementary therapists offer fast, effective, and professional solutions to help:
- boost the immune system
- help eliminate toxins
- help relieve pain
- improve circulation
- improve sleep patterns
- increase energy levels
- induce deep relaxation
- reduce stress and tension
- restore balance to body systems
The benefits
Complementary therapies can be used to target a specific physical, mental, emotional or spiritual problem, or act as a preventative measure, to increase your sense of well-being or purely for relaxation. Research shows that after receiving complementary treatments or therapies you can generally expect to feel an improvement in your health, relief from pain and in some cases, a greater understanding and responsibility for your own health. In most cases these therapies can help to:
- Improve blood circulation
- Improve lymphatic drainage and hence the removal of waste products
- Maintain skin suppleness
- Induce relaxation
- Enhance sleep
- Relieve and release tension
- Stimulate release of endorphins
- Reduce muscle tension and pain
- Revitalise and refresh the mind and body
- Rebalance the emotions
- Cause a deep feeling of tranquillity
- Make the mind calm and clear
What you can expect after your complementary therapy treatment
Because most complementary therapy treatments are hands on, they can comfort and soothe the mind and body and in turn help with stress reduction. In addition, they provide benefits on a physical, mental and spiritual level – leaving you with a feeling of peace and tranquillity. And because they are aimed at everyone, the young, elderly, mobile and immobile, you can expect to feel more relaxed, reinvigorated and refreshed afterwards.

Complementary therapy prices
As we deal with people and their problems on an individual basis, no course of complementary therapy is ever the same. As a result, prices can vary depending upon the nature of your behaviour problem and the course of treatment or therapy that is followed.
Once we have had an opportunity to assess and review your case and before beginning any treatment, we will always advise you of the type of costs that you can expect. Only when you are 100% happy will we start a range of flexible treatment sessions to help balance your body and change your life.
